In support of Mystery Creek Fieldays sustainability theme for 2023, the PrimeHort team will showcase the latest innovations in commercial kitset greenhouses and sustainable growing practices.
Demand from Kiwi farmers for plant nursery supplies continues to grow, making it an exciting time to share our latest products and services to the farming community at Fieldays.
Many farmers are growing native plants to support their revegetation projects, plant out waterways, or protect and beautify their land. Others have recognised the nation’s demand for native plants and have set up a nursery for an additional income stream. Rabobank highlighted this with farmer and PrimeHort customer, Adam Thompson. His video is a good example of a farmer who started growing about 10 years ago with 25,000 native plants and has over 1 million anticipated for 2023.
To support NZ growers, and those farmers keen to add ‘nurseryman’ to their title, PrimeHort will use the Fieldays week as an opportunity to exhibit the latest innovations in kitset greenhouses, climate control, irrigation booms, benching and nursery automation.
PrimeHort will have a kitset greenhouse assembled for Fielday visitors to find out how these innovative structures can maximise crop yields and profits. Greenhouse accessories can be seen in action, such as rolling benches, along with examples of sustainable paper-based growing. A team of experts will share advice and visitors will have a chance to win a nurseryman kit to the value of $1,000.
If you are heading to Fieldays in 2023 we extend a warm welcome to enjoy the hospitality of PrimeHort and witness the fascinating world of growing – see you at #C15!
From a basic tunnel to multi span or a tailored warehouse – greenhouses are a smart choice.
GREENHOUSES – KEY BENEFITS:
Increased Performance | Crop yields and profit are all increased simply by having better control over temperature, light, heat/humidity and water. Essentially, the perfect growing conditions lead to better yields and improved cost efficiencies in the use of resources – which all helps a grower’s bottom line. |
Extended Growing Season | A dedicated, finely-tuned growing environment in a greenhouse leads to longer seasons for its crops when compared to traditional outdoor growing. |
Pest & Disease Control | Disease and pests are unlikely to invade crops when you have full control of the growing environment. |
Water Conservation | Recirculated and reused water in the greenhouse means less overall drain on water than outdoor methods, which is also kinder on the environment. |
Energy Efficiency | Don’t forget the added stars of the show! Like energy-efficient accessories, including temperature control, rolling bench systems, solar panels, LED lighting and more. Minimise energy costs and carbon footprint – all round smarter growing. |
