Yet the supply-demand equation has not let up and the topic of plant survival feels so important.
Of course, we can talk about expanding production too (automation all the way)… but for this article, our focus is on avoiding plant loss.
Success stories in this industry usually come from rigorous solutions for wind protection, irrigation, soil nutrition, pest control and weed suppression. WIND:
Strong wind events can lead to devastating plant damage. We have seen many innovative solutions reach the market, aimed at providing a microclimate to support both roots and overall plant. TIP! WATER:
From retention, to adequate supply through to irrigation in every guise; surface, sprinkler and drip – it’s no surprise that water rules! SOIL FERTILITY:
Achieving the correct soil fertility is critical for optimal plant growth. Maintaining that nutrient balance is super important too. One of our favourite products is Smartgro Fertiliser Tablets for orchards, forestry, vineyards and nurseries. Each 10g tablet provides a perfectly controlled release of Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Potassium, Magnesium and trace elements. PESTS:
