Clonex is the world's first and leading propagating gel, designed to aid in successful plant propagation. Its thick gel formulation stays in contact with and around the stem, sealing the cut to prevent air embolisms and wilting. Clonex contains a unique blend of IBA, vitamins, and minerals, promoting root cell development and new root tissue, resulting in higher cloning success rates. Additionally, its anti-microbial agents protect against fungal contamination, further enhancing its effectiveness.
Clonex active ingredient is Indole butyric acid (also known as IBA) which is a plant hormone that is responsible for root initiation and growth.
Clonex is available in 3 different strengths:

Clonex Green: 1.5 g/L IBA (for herbaceous and softwood cuttings)
Clonex Purple: 3.0 g/L IBA (for semi-hardwood cuttings)
Clonex Red: 8.0 g/L IBA (for hardwood cuttings)

Types of Cuttings:

Herbaceous cuttings from non woody herbaceous plants
Softwood cuttings from material taken from soft and flexible young wood from current year’s growth.
Semi-hardwood cuttings from partially mature wood from the current year’s growth
Hardwood cuttings from mature wood from previous years growth that does not bend easily.

How far does a bottle of Clonex go?

This depends on the diameter of the cutting and the depth to which the cutting is dipped, but the grower should expect several thousand cuttings per litre of Clonex
