During the month of May, PrimeHort’s Lachlan Bill took the opportunity to get on the road and visit retail customers across the North Island. The goal of the trip was to meet with our valued customers at the coal face – those who promote The Gardener products on a daily basis. But just as importantly, the trip was an excellent chance to catch up face-to-face and update retailers on latest products and innovation in retail displays – all geared towards boosting bottom lines.
For PrimeHort, the annual road trip is a valuable exercise to hear first-hand how the market is performing – the general mood among shoppers, what the current challenges are, popular gardening products, what retail displays are working best and so on. From this feedback, we can keep innovating and refining our offering to help retailers grow their garden centre businesses.
This trip is always a big reminder that retailers with smart storefronts and shop floor marketing are generating better sales than those with a lacklustre approach. Garden centres with unused or poorly managed floor spaces are missing vital sales!
